Why can I only activate a limited number of TAIDEN microphones?

The short answer is that there is an active microphone limit, set either in the software or on the front panel of the TAIDEN Main Unit. Please find below descriptions of the mic activation limits for each system.

The long answer is that there are really two microphone lists in the software: the Delegate Microphone List, and the System Limit.

The Delegate Microphone List applies to all Delegate Microphones (any microphone not configured as a Chair or VIP unit, likely the majority of your microphone units) in the TAIDEN System. This is the “Active Mic Limit” set in the DCS software or on the Main Unit. Chair/VIP units are able to activate their microphones separately from the Delegate Microphone list. 

For example, if we have an Active Mic Limit of 4x microphones, and a system limit of 6x active microphones, we could activate… 

  • 4x Delegate Microphones and 2x Chair or VIP microphones 
  • 3x Delegate Microphones and 3x Chair or VIP microphones 

Please find below a description of the system limit of active microphones for some of the series of TAIDEN microphones below: 

For the 4100, 8300 Series of Main Units:
  • For regular Delegate microphone units, there is an Active Microphone Limit of 1-4 microphones.
  • Separate from the Delegate microphone limit, Chair/VIP microphone units may activate their microphones until 6x Delegate/Chair/VIP microphones are active.
For the 5300 Series of Main Units:
  • For regular Delegate microphone units, there is an Active Microphone Limit of 1-4 microphones.
  • Separate from the Delegate microphone limit, Chair/VIP units may activate their microphones until 4x Delegate/Chair/VIP units are active.
For the 4800, 8600 Series:
  • For regular Delegate microphone units, there is an Active Microphone Limit of 1-8 microphones. 
  • Separate from the Delegate microphone limit, Chair/VIP units may activate their microphones until 8 Delegate/Chair/VIP units are active.
